These Terms constitute a legally binding agreement between you ("User", "you", or "your") and PICCHI LTD ("Company", "us", "we", or "our"), a company registered in England and Wales with its registered office at 61 Bridge Street, Kington, England, HR5 3DJ, United Kingdom.

2. Service Description

We provide a suite of content editing tools, including but not limited to:

  • Watermark Removal: AI-powered removal of visual watermarks, logos, and text overlays from video and image content.
  • C2PA Metadata Removal: Client-side stripping of C2PA content credentials, provenance metadata, and related embedded data from video and image files.
  • C2PA Checker: A free client-side tool to detect whether files contain C2PA content credentials or provenance metadata.

These tools are designed to help content creators manage their own files. The C2PA Metadata Removal and C2PA Checker tools process files entirely within your browser. No file data is uploaded to our servers for these tools.

Content Ownership Requirement

By using any of our tools, you represent and warrant that you are the original creator of the content, or that you have obtained all necessary rights, licences, and permissions from the content owner to modify the content. You accept full and sole responsibility for ensuring your use of the Service complies with all applicable laws in your jurisdiction.

3. User Responsibilities, Representations, and Liability

3.1 Content Ownership and Rights

You represent and warrant that for every file you process through our Service:

  • You are the original creator or rightful owner of the content;
  • Or you have obtained explicit written authorisation from the copyright holder to modify the content;
  • Your use of the processed content will comply with all applicable laws, regulations, and platform terms of service in your jurisdiction;
  • You have independently assessed the legal implications of modifying or removing metadata from your content under the laws of your jurisdiction.

3.2 User Assumes All Liability for Use

You are solely and exclusively liable for how you use the Service and any content processed through it. The Company provides general-purpose content editing tools. We do not control, direct, or advise how you use processed files after download. You acknowledge that laws regarding watermark removal, metadata stripping, content provenance, and AI-generated content labelling vary significantly by jurisdiction and are subject to change. It is your sole responsibility to understand and comply with the laws applicable to you. The Company accepts no responsibility or liability for any legal consequences arising from your use of processed content.

3.3 Prohibited Uses

You must not use our Service to:

  • Process content you do not own or lack authorisation to modify
  • Facilitate copyright infringement or misrepresent the origin of content
  • Create, distribute, or promote deepfake content intended to deceive, defraud, or harm others
  • Circumvent copy protection or digital rights management systems designed to prevent unauthorised copying
  • Violate any applicable laws, regulations, or third-party intellectual property rights
  • Process content that is illegal, harmful, defamatory, or that exploits minors

  • Attempt to reverse engineer, decompile, or exploit our technology

3.4 Compliance with Local Laws

You acknowledge that the legality of removing watermarks, metadata, content credentials (including C2PA data), or provenance information depends on your jurisdiction, the nature of the content, and the purpose for which it is used. Relevant laws may include, without limitation:

  • The Copyright, Designs and Patents Act 1988 (UK), including Section 296ZG regarding electronic rights management information
  • The Digital Millennium Copyright Act (DMCA) Section 1202 (United States)
  • The EU AI Act (Regulation (EU) 2024/1689), including Article 50 transparency obligations effective from August 2026
  • State and local legislation regarding AI-generated content labelling
  • Platform-specific terms of service from social media and content distribution services

This list is not exhaustive and is provided for informational purposes only. It does not constitute legal advice. We strongly recommend consulting a qualified legal professional in your jurisdiction before using our tools to modify content provenance data, particularly if you intend to distribute the content publicly.

3.5 Account Responsibilities

You are responsible for maintaining the security of your account and for all activities that occur under your account. You must notify us immediately of any unauthorised use.

4. Nature of the Service

Our tools are general-purpose content editing utilities, comparable to image editors, video editors, and file converters. We provide the technical capability to modify files at the direction of the user. We do not:

  • Encourage, advise, or direct users to remove metadata or watermarks from content they do not own
  • Guarantee that processed content will be undetectable by any platform or detection system
  • Provide legal advice regarding the legality of content modification in any jurisdiction
  • Make any representation about the downstream effects of using processed content on social media or other platforms
  • Control, monitor, or take responsibility for how users distribute processed content

The decision to process any file and the subsequent use of that processed file is entirely yours. You accept all risk and liability associated with that decision.

9. Disclaimers and Limitation of Liability

Under the Act, digital content and services must be of satisfactory quality, fit for a particular purpose, and as described. If the Service does not meet these standards, you may be entitled to a repair, replacement, or refund. These statutory rights cannot be excluded or limited by these Terms.

9.5 Indemnification

You agree to indemnify, defend, and hold harmless PICCHI LTD, its directors, officers, employees, and agents from and against any and all claims, demands, damages, losses, liabilities, costs, and expenses (including reasonable legal fees) arising out of or in connection with: (a) your use of the Service; (b) any content you process through the Service; (c) your violation of these Terms; (d) your violation of any applicable law or regulation; or (e) your infringement of any third-party intellectual property or other rights. 12.1 Governing Law

These Terms are governed by and construed in accordance with the laws of England and Wales. This choice of governing law does not deprive you of the protection afforded to you by provisions that cannot be derogated from by agreement by virtue of the mandatory consumer protection laws of your country of residence.

13. Changes to Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. Material changes will be communicated via email or prominent notice on our website at least 30 days before they take effect. Your continued use of the Service after changes take effect constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms. If you do not agree to the updated Terms, you must stop using the Service and cancel your account.

14. General Provisions

14.1 Severability

If any provision of these Terms is found to be unenforceable or invalid by a court of competent jurisdiction, that provision shall be limited or eliminated to the minimum extent necessary, and the remaining provisions shall continue in full force and effect.
